My concentration utilizes specific elements and principles of art in figure studies to evoke certain emotions while viewing the pieces. I want to explore the movement and emotion in the human body. Often times figure paintings take away any sense of identity by focusing primarily of physical aspects of a person. My goal is to make the viewer feel connected to the painting without knowing the background story. To successfully paint the human body I will have to do studies of women's figures in different poses.I will be using acrylic paint because of its water solubility when wet. Each painting will captivate one emotion. I will do this with the lighting, color, and composition. I will also adjust my brush strokes throughout each piece.
